In short: Mantlenaut is free to play. Play fair, be kind, don't cheat or attack the game, and respect other players' work. You own what you build. We work hard to keep the game running but it is still being made, especially during the alpha. Your legal rights as a consumer are never affected.

1. About these terms
These terms cover the Mantlenaut game and this website, mantlenaut.com. Mantlenaut is made and run by its developer in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By playing the game or using the site you agree to them. If you are under 18, please read them with a parent or guardian.
We may change these terms as the game grows. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for big changes we will tell players in the game. If you keep playing after a change, the new terms apply.
2. Free to play
Mantlenaut is free to play. You don't have to pay anything to play the whole game.
In the future we may offer optional extras, for example items made by other players in the Store. If we do, they will be optional, clearly priced before you buy, and they will never give anyone an advantage over other players: no pay to win. Purchases will come with their own terms, shown to you before you pay, and nothing in them will take away your rights as a consumer.
3. The alpha test
While the game is in alpha it is unfinished. Things will break, change or disappear, and worlds made during the alpha may be reset before or at launch. The tester password is for you alone: please don't share it. We can end alpha access at any time. Thank you for helping us test.
4. Accounts and age
- Anyone can play. Player accounts are for people aged 13 and over; younger players can play without one, and their worlds are kept on their own device.
- Keep your password and recovery codes safe and don't share your account. You are responsible for what happens on it.
- Choose a name that isn't offensive and doesn't pretend to be someone else, especially our team.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time through the contact page.
5. Your worlds and creations
What you build in Mantlenaut is yours. So that the game can work, you let us store, copy and show your worlds and creations, for example to the friends you play with, or in the Store if you choose to publish something there. This permission is free, worldwide, and ends when you delete the creation or your account, except where it has already been shared with others or where we must keep a copy by law.
Only share things that are yours to share, and nothing that breaks the rules below or the law.
6. Playing fair and being kind
Mantlenaut is for everyone. When you play, don't:
- cheat, use hacks, bots or modified game files, or deliberately use bugs to get ahead (please report bugs instead);
- harass, bully, threaten or abuse anyone, or share anyone's personal information;
- build or share anything hateful, sexual, violent against real people or otherwise illegal, including names and signs;
- pretend to be someone else, including our team;
- spam, scam, or sell or trade accounts, items or worlds for real money outside the game;
- attack, overload, probe, scrape or try to get round the security of the game, the site or our servers;
- copy, decompile or reverse engineer the game to cheat, to harm others, or to make a copy of it.
7. What we can do
If someone breaks these rules we may, depending on how serious it is: warn them, remove what they built or shared, suspend their account for a time, ban it, or block their connection. We act fairly and in proportion, and we keep a record of what we did and why. If you think we got it wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will look again.
To report a player or something in the game, use Report a player. We read every report. If you think someone is in danger, contact the police first.
8. Our game
The game, its world, art, models, music, sounds, code and the Mantlenaut name and logo belong to us or to those who licensed them to us (see the licences). You may play the game and share screenshots and videos of your own play. Please don't copy, sell or republish the game or its parts.
9. The service
We work hard to keep Mantlenaut running smoothly, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. We may add, change or remove features, and we may need to pause the game for maintenance. We will try to give notice of big changes.
10. Responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
If digital content we supply damages your device or other digital content because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will either repair the damage or pay you fair compensation. Otherwise, because the game is free and provided as it is, we are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for losses caused by things outside our control. The game is for private, non-commercial use.
11. Ending
You can stop playing at any time, and ask us to delete your account. We may end or suspend your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. If we ever close Mantlenaut for good, we will give as much notice as we can.
12. The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring claims in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring claims in your own courts, and your local consumer law still protects you.
